Windows 11 OOBE Now Features Copilot Assistant

Windows 11 is getting a new feature that changes how users set up their devices. Microsoft has introduced Copilot into the Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE) process. This addition aims to make the initial setup easier for users by providing real-time assistance through the Copilot AI assistant.

The OOBE is the first screen users see when they turn on a new Windows 11 device. It guides them through setting up basic preferences like language, keyboard layout, and account creation. Now, with Copilot integrated, users can get instant help with setup steps, troubleshoot issues, and even personalize settings automatically.

This marks a significant shift in how Windows handles user onboarding, moving from a static wizard to an interactive AI-driven experience. The integration of Copilot into OOBE is part of Microsoft’s broader strategy to embed AI into everyday computing tasks. Copilot, first introduced in Windows 11 as a productivity tool, can now assist during the critical first moments of device setup.

This feature is available on Windows 11 devices that support Copilot, including those with the latest hardware and software updates. The OOBE process typically takes around 5-10 minutes, but with Copilot’s help, users might find it more efficient.
